Govert Family Wines - Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve

Tasting Notes:

Deep red and purple in colour, the wine has tones of blackcurrant, damp earth, violet and cedar aromas with touches of mint on the nose. The palate is well defined, structured and layered, showing hints of plummy fruit, dark chocolate and a background of new oak. The wine has been aged for 18 months in new and 2nd fill French barrels. This wine has an ageing potential of at least 10 years.

This wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 18 degrees Celsius. The wine should reach its optimum drinking window in 5-8 years from now. If the wine is enjoyed now, make sure to decant it for at least two hours before serving.

Food Suggestion:

This wine is a big bold wine and is most suitable with red meat. A grilled, juicy steak with lots of black pepper is a classic companion to this wine. Also roast beef, lamb and stews.
Other good companions to this wine are grilled vegetables like zucchini, eggplant or roasted potatoes.
